WHERE, 45 km section of Clarence River NSW between Brushgrove and Yamba
This point to Point flatwater race is for both Stand Up and Prone paddle boards only.
The 2024 course will incorporate two distances therefore two start locations but with the same finish location . Paddle activity will occur on the one stretch of River and will finish at whiting beach Yamba NSW.
Start Point 1. Brushgrove boat ramp (Grafton St, Brushgrove), long course
Start Point 2. Lower Clarence Amateur Rowing Club, Maclean, short course.
Paddlers have the option to paddle as an individual or relay team member from each of the courses. Relay teams from start 1 will consist of 3 team members. Relay teams from start point 2 will consist of 2 members.
The course provides change out points accessible by support vehicles at three locations. These locations also serve as ideal points to either rest or exit the race . Course 1 relay members have two change out locations. . Course 2 relay members have one change out location.
Start times for both course 1 and course 2 will be different and coordinated so that long course paddlers will finish at similar time as the short course paddlers. Expect the two start times as 6:30 am for long course and 8am for short course.
BCPC is a proper flatwater endurance board race. Slower paddlers on the long course should expect to be on the water in excess of 5 hours and the short course in excess of 3 hours.
SUP boards must be a minimum 14ft and they must be of the racing type. Prone paddlers will have the option of 3 different sizes. Unlimited, 12 ft stock, and 10.6 ft Race board. Relay team members must have same size craft for SUP and. Relay paddlers can also enter as mixed board class where team members can use any board type either SUP or Prone combination or mix, e.g. Prone/Sup/Prone or Sup/Prone/Sup .
Category awards will apply where more than three paddlers in the category. Otherwise, first place only applies.
RELAYS will involve 3 members in the long course race. leg 1- 20km leg 2- 15km leg 3-11km. Short course relay involves 2 paddlers leg 1-15km and leg 2-11km. Categories reflect paddle board type, all male ,all female or mixed . There are no age categories. Relays are all age combined only.

THERE ARE NO CUT OFF TIMES. PADDLERS SHOULD MAKE OWN DECISION ABOUT CAPABILITY TO FINISH. RACE EXIT LOCATIONS ARE THE SAME AS RELAY CHANGE OUT LOCATIONS. RACE CONTROL MUST BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY IF RACE EXIT OCCURS.
